About Shannon

Shannon Kelly is a recognized higher education professional, speaker and writer for her specialty in social media strategy as it relates to professional development and higher education branding. Throughout her career, she has helped students, alumni, and other professionals leverage social media to achieve their career or organizational goals.

Since 2007, Shannon has been a part of a leading institution’s career services department. She offers one-on-one career advising, workshops and conference presentations, both at the regional and national level, on personal branding and social media strategy.  She has consulted with colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad to aid development of their student services’ social media platforms and institutional branding.

She is a contributing writer to the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE) “Tech Talk” column, and has had articles published on the OECD blog in France and Times Higher Ed in the UK.  Shannon received the 2012 NACE award for Innovation Excellence in Technology for Penn’s Day in the Life program on Twitter, @PennCareerDay.  She has also been named a top “Gen Y Careerist to Follow on Twitter” on Brazen Careerist.

Shannon received her Bachelors in Sociology from University of Massachusetts-Amherst (2006) and M.S.Ed in Higher Education Management from University of Pennsylvania (2011).
